Aromatherapy

Essential oils are extremely concentrated and aren't meant to be used straight or neat, but instead are to be mixed with vegetable oils for massage, alcohol for perfume or liniments, water for steams or scenting a room on flowers as in potpourri. The inhalation of their vapors is usually enough to act upon the mind or body. Caution should be exercised in their use.

Bay essential oil
Bay is pest repellant, and is used externally for sprains and bruises, spicy and warm.
Bergamot essential oil
Sweet and citrusy with a warm floral quality, made from the rind of a citrus fruit.
cajeput essential oil
A relative of tea tree, active upon the nerves as in a back ache, pest repellant.
camphor Essential oil
Made from a 100 year old tree, relieves muscle tension and joint pain.
cedarwood essential oil
Pest repellant, drying to the skin and mucous membranes.
citronella essential oil
Pest repellant with a harsh lemony scent
clove essential oil
Numbs pain, very bitter, warming, for external use only.
Eucalyptus Essential oil
Sinus clearing, antiseptic, pest repellant
Lavender Essential Oil
Clean, with a floral light softness, calming, useful for burns, pest repellant, antiseptic
Patchouli essential oil
An aphrodisiac reputation, stimulant, the smell improves with age, skin care, pest repellant
rose geranium essential oil
Skin care, pest repellant, relaxing, light & refreshing, good for burns and inflammation
rosemary Essential oil
Stimulating, for muscular pain, pest repellant, antiseptic
spruce essential oil
Relieves nerve irritation and back pain, evergreen smell
sweet orange essential oil
Pest repellant, drying to the skin, cuts oil so useful as a cleaner
tea tree essential oil
Useful for burns, clearing sinuses, antiseptic
wintergreen essential oil
Pain reliever as it contains aspirin-like compound, externally used in liniments
